New Classroom Aula Nueva

This week grades 3 through 10 have been doing standardize testing. Sixth grade shares a wall with us. Fifth and Fourth grades are on our other sides. The walls in this building are not sound proof. So we had to have class in the library. "At first it was hard for me to focus" said Josue, "but then I got used to it." Esta semana tercero hasta segundo de bachillerato estuvieron tomando examenes. Sexto grado comparte una pared con nostoros. Quinto y cuarto estan a los otros lados. Las paredes en este edificio pasan mucho sonido. Por eso tuvimos que coger clase en la biblioteca. "Al principio fue dificil concentrar," dijo Josue, "pero despues me acostumbre."

Last few Weeks Ultimas Semanas

We are working really hard to get through the end of the school year. We have two full weeks left of learning and then the last week is Service Week where we will do service projects everyday.
Estamos trabajando duro para terminar el ano escolar. Tenemos dos semana enteras de aprendizaje todavia y despues un Semana de Servicio. Esta es la ultima semana que vamos a pasar haciendo proyectos de servicio todos los dia.

Valuable Lessons Lecciones Valorosas

We are learning some very valuable lessons in Second grade. We are learning how to care for things whether they are ours or not. We are also learning to always tell the truth and that writing on anything but paper is not okay.

Estamos aprendiendo algunas lecciones buenas en segundo grado. Estamos aprendiendo como cuidar para todas las cosas, que sean nuestras o no. Estamos aprendiendo decir la verdad siempre y que escribiendo en algo que no es papel no esta bien.

Spelling Bee Competencia de Ortografia

Friday was the spelling bee. Crismeiry, Geremias, Adrian and Josue were all competitors against some of the students from first grade. Josue won first place. It was fun to cheer on our friends.

Viernes fue la competencia de ortografia. Crismiery, Geremias, Adrian y Josue competieron con algunos alumnos de primer grado. Josue gano primer lugar. Fue divertido animar a nuestros amigos.

We're Busy! Estamos ocupados!

Last week a dentist came one one of the work teams. He taught us all how to brush our teeth and gave us all fluoride. Yuck!

La semana pasada vino un dentista con uno de los equipos de trabajo. El nos enseno como cepillar los dientes y nos dio florida. Aqueoroso
With the other work team we interviewed some of the people and made a book about them.

Con otro equipo, entrevistamos algunos de las personas y hicimos un libro sobre ellos.
Today we learned and practiced measuring long distances with our yard sticks.

Hoy aprendimos y practicamos medir distancias largas con nuestros palos de metro.
Also today, we learned about the third thing of matter - Gas! We did an experiment with bags full of air to learn how to describe gas.

Tambien hoy, aprendimos sobre la tercera cosa de los estados de materia - gas! Hicimos un experimento con fundas llenas de aire para aprender como describir a gas.

Mr. Mark was in an accident last week. He was hit by a car and broke his leg. He went to the hospital where they operated on his leg. Now he is at home resting. Please pray for him and his wife, Ciara who is the 5th grade teacher.

Mr. Mark estuvo en un accidente el la semana pasada. Lo chocaron y se rompio la pierna. Fue al hospital donde lo operaron en la pierna. Ahora el esta en su casa descansando. Por favor, ora por el y su esposa Ciara quien es la profa de quinto grado.

You are Loved! Tu Eres Amado!

Today we got some love from California. Grades 1 - 6 recieved buttons that said "You are Loved." In Second grade we talked about how much people can love us like our families & our friends, but how God's love is so much bigger than that. We learned how God the Father loves us so much that he sent his ONLY son Jesus to die for us! That love is bigger than any human love!

Hoy recibimos amor de California. Primer hasta sexto grado recibieron butones que dicen "Eres amado." En segundo grado hablamos de como las personas nos pueden amar, como nuestras familias y amigos, pero el amor de Dios es mucho mas grande que eso. Aprendimos como Dios el Padre, nos ama tanto que mando a su UNICO hijo Jesus para morir para nosotros! Ese amor es mucho mas grande que cualquier amor humano!
